Mezqa is a concept brand created for smoked agave geeks — from mixologists to urban millennials. The packaging draws inspiration from regional history with handmade Oaxacan folk art masks and paper derived from agave pulp. Traditional, yet a bit unconventional. 

The graphics take cues from animal masks seen at traditional Oaxacan street festivals. Weathered script typography combined with a classic engravers serif gives a nod to historical Mexico. The lock-up takes the shape of a cruciform to further evoke the tensions of Mexican culture.
